Custom inspection robotics and self-service kiosk rollout

Industrial Manufacturing Group

A manufacturer needed automated visual quality inspection on the line plus self-service kiosks for shift-floor reporting. We engineered custom robotics hardware with computer-vision perception alongside a fleet of ruggedized kiosks.

Fleet uptime over 24 months

The challenge

Visual inspection was manual, and the defects that mattered most were the ones a tired eye misses at the end of a shift. Shift reporting ran on paper that reached management a day late. Three vendors had already said the timeline wasn't feasible for custom hardware.

What we built

We designed the inspection rig and the kiosk enclosure in-house, trained detection models on the client's own line footage rather than public datasets, and deployed inference to edge devices so the factory floor kept working without cloud connectivity. The kiosks shipped with remote fleet management from day one.

Delivered through our Custom Robotics, Kiosk Manufacturing, and AI Solutions practices.

The outcome

Undetected defects fell 41%, sixty-plus kiosks went live across six facilities on the original schedule, and the fleet has held 99.6% uptime across two years in the field.
